OMFS is a surgical speciality that treats diseases, injuries, and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws, and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. It combines dental, medical, and surgical training to manage everything from facial trauma to corrective jaw surgery, cleft care, TMJ disorders, and oral pathology.
Orthognathic surgery is considered when jaw discrepancies cause difficulty in biting, chewing, breathing, speaking, or when facial asymmetry impacts confidence. A full orthodontic and surgical workup — including 3D imaging and treatment planning — determines whether surgery is the right option and what outcome to expect.
Most TMJ disorders respond to conservative therapy. When needed, minimally invasive arthrocentesis or arthroscopy is the first-line surgical option, with total joint replacement reserved for advanced, irreversible joint disease. Each plan is patient-specific and based on careful imaging and clinical assessment.
Cleft care is a lifelong, team-based journey — from primary lip repair in the first months of life, to palate repair, alveolar bone grafting, and orthognathic or rhinoplasty refinements in the teenage years. The goal is restoring function, speech, and confidence at every stage.
Yes — both direct (lateral window) and indirect (crestal / osteotome) sinus lift procedures, along with guided bone regeneration and immediate or delayed implant placement. The approach is chosen based on bone volume, anatomy, and the long-term restorative plan.
